True North Collaborative is a partnership of local, Minnesota brands and residents who believe in small business. Our goal is to create a space that through food and commerce can host dialogues and collaborations that drive diverse, equitable, and inclusive capacity building, disrupt brick and mortar experiential design, and accelerate the local and sustainable impact movement.

Michaella is the Creative Director of True North Collaborative and the Founder of Lucent Blue Events, a boutique event planning & experiential design firm serving corporate, nonprofit, and social clients across the Midwest. She holds a BA from Barnard College at Columbia University and an MPA in management and social entrepreneurship from New York University. She serves on the East Isles Farmers Market board and lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two children.

Founding Partner & Director of Sustainability and Partnerships

Vasiliki is the Director of Sustainability and Partnerships at True North Collaborative and the Founder of Coimatan, a creative studio that since March 2020 has worked with more than 70 partners, including small businesses, nonprofits, and organizations to co-create products and experiences for the community. She brings global experience across venture capital, corporations, and consulting to the initiative and is a B Leader, trained in the B-Corp framework. Locally, she is a Fourth Generation member and a part of the B Local Events committee. Vasiliki studied Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering as well as Engineering Entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania.

"By creating a platform that celebrates brick-and mortar and showcases the small businesses that ignite our local economy and enrich our daily lives right in the heart of Uptown Minneapolis, we are looking to bring about an elevated conversation around shopping local that involves both owners and consumers."


Retail Merchandising Intern

As an upcoming senior studying Retail Merchandising at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Jamie will be assisting in retail merchandising and vendor management relations. Jamie has been a member of the National Retail Federation Student Association during her time at college, and hopes to help others shop sustainably and locally.
